LAD Construction has been digging up a ton of old bottles on Wallace St. I had a wheelbarrow full and they are now in the hands of the SCDNR Heritage Trust Archaeologists. They will be used for teaching students K-12 and in the laboratory comparative collection for staff and graduate students to properly identify artifacts they excavate. It was a great help for them to know exactly where the bottles were found.
Update from Meg Gaillard, Heritage Trust Archaeologist ~ As we walked into the laboratory with the boxes of bottles we had student clamoring around us. I’m suggesting to some that they research the bottles and develop a paper for upcoming archaeology conferences. Thanks so much for contacting us!
