I was proud to accept the Columbia Council of Neighborhoods award for Neighborhood Program of the Year for Cottontown’s recent Art Crawl. Special thanks go to neighbor Julie Seel for conceiving of this event and for her coordination efforts, which made it successful. Thanks to Blue Bike for co-sponsoring, along with Sumter Street businesses, volunteers, porch sponsors, and artists who gave their time and focused on this event to make it a success. What a great way to show Columbia how a neighborhood can come together and enrich people’s lives on a Saturday afternoon! ~ Will Thrift

Cottontown Art Crawl = The Art of ZERO

The Cottontown Art Crawl started and ended with many zeros. But in a good way. The crawl was a zero waste event. Maps were provided via the website only. There was zero cost for advertisement. All advertisement was done on social media, news outlets, free publications. Zero cost for the artist to participate. Zero cost to use a BlueBike – thanks to co-sponsor.
